A Surat-based man, Pradip Jotangiya, claims his counterfeit currency racket was for social welfare, aiming to fund his foundation's activities. Police, however, are investigating the operation, which allegedly involved printing fake Rs 500 notes to generate funds for accommodation and support for patients. The gang was intercepted in Ahmedabad before they could circulate the fake currency.
